Who we are
Auto Body Clinic is a vehicle bodywork repair business in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, run by Mutasim (Tas) Karim, a sole trader trading as Auto Body Clinic. We are responsible for the personal information you give us.

What we collect
When you ask for a quote, book a repair or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your vehicle registration, make and model
- Photos of your car and the damage
- Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp or our website form
- Payment records, such as the amount, date and method. We don’t keep your bank login or security details.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a price
- To book in, carry out and invoice your repair
- To handle any warranty claim or complaint
- To keep business and tax records, as the law requires
- To ask for a review after your repair. You can tell us not to.
Our legal reasons
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), we use your information because:
- You’ve asked us for a quote or repair, so we need it to take steps towards, or carry out, a contract with you
- We have to keep certain records by law, such as tax records
- We have a legitimate interest in running our business, such as dealing with warranty claims
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with services that help us run the business, such as:
- WhatsApp and our email provider, to message you
- Our bank, to take bank transfer payments
- Our website host (Netlify), to run the website and receive form enquiries. Like most hosts, it may keep basic technical logs, such as your IP address, for security.
- An accountant, if we use one, for tax records
How long we keep it
- Quotes that don’t go ahead: deleted after 12 months
- Repair and payment records: kept as long as the law requires for tax, which is usually at least 5 years after the tax year ends
- Warranty records: kept while your warranty could still apply
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law
- Stop or limit how we use it
- Send your information to you or another business

Cookies
Our website doesn’t use cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising, so we don’t need to ask for your consent and you won’t see a cookie banner. Our fonts, photos and videos are all hosted on our own site, so no other company tracks you while you browse. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we’ll ask for your permission first and update this page.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right.
